From 11–17 November 2015, the APPG organised a study tour to Sri Lanka for a cross-party UK delegation including Baroness Jenny Tonge, Heather Wheeler MP, Baroness Jenkin, Holly Lynch MP, Virendra Sharma MP, Nigel Evans MP, Lord Steel and Karl Turner MP. The study tour was hosted by FPA Sri Lanka, the International Planned Parenthood Federation’s (IPPF) member association in Sri Lanka. The study tour aimed to introduce UK Parliamentarians to family planning, sexual and reproductive health and rights and international development in the context of a post-conflict state. The study tour was intended to deepen understanding of core issues, strengthening the Parliamentarians’ knowledge and enhancing the membership of the APPG.
